Solicits investigator-initiated research proposals focused on the broad areaof perioperative musculoskeletal pain management focused on, but not limited to the following areas:
- Perioperative pain management opioid-sparing research through varying pain control techniques using non-narcotic, multimodal options.
- Determining the safest and most efficacious regional anesthesia techniques to provide benefit to patients undergoing orthopaedic operations, including, but not limited to, the assessment of patient reported outcomes as well as functional assessment
Eligibility
OREF/AANA Foundation requires a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the role of Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI who may be collaborating with a PhD and/or MD in order to foster the application of a full range of expertise, approaches, technologies, and creativity. A PhD may serve as the principal investigator (PI); if a CRNA serves as co-PI. The CRNA serving as PI or co-PI must meet the requirements for Continuous Professional Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). A PhD serving as PI or co-PI must hold a faculty appointment. An MD serving as co-PI must have a valid license to practice in the United States
