AAOS Announces $10k Caplan Award
New award honors the legacy of pioneering scientist Arnold Caplan, PhD

The new award, offered by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), is funded by a generous gift from Dr. Caplan's family. The award recognizes significant contributions to advancing the development of biologics solutions to treat musculoskeletal conditions. Applications are now being accepted and are due by November 3, 2024. The first recipient of the Arnold I. Caplan Award for Distinguished Research in Orthobiologics will be announced at the AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego. Funding of the award will be overseen by OREF.
