In Memory: William Bowman Jr., MD

A pioneer in orthopaedic oncologic surgery, Dr. Bowman earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia (Class of 1971), completed his surgical internship at the University of Michigan, and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable separation, he completed his residency at UCSF and a prestigious fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, later building a distinguished career in San Diego. For many years, he was a partner of San Diego Orthopedic Associates Medical Group, then joined the Orthopedic Medical Group of San Diego, and finally, spent his last five years of active practice at the UCSD Department of Orthopedics.
