About the Annual Fund
The OREF Annual Fund is an important way you can support OREF’s mission to fund innovative research that improves musculoskeletal health, support investigators throughout their careers, and collaborate with others to drive improvements in clinical practice. Your gift enables OREF to administer a comprehensive program that has provided nearly $150 million in grant and award funding since our founding in 1955.

About the Research Fund
Your gift to the OREF Research Fund enables OREF to promote a research agenda that addresses today's most critical issues while supporting the most promising new investigators in the fields. 100% of your gift to the Research Fund supports research grants and grant administration. About the OREF Endowment
An unrestricted gift to the OREF Endowment Fund is an enduring way to support orthopaedic research. Each year, a small percentage of the Endowment’s earnings are available for OREF to use to carry out its mission of giving new investigators the support they need to pursue research and establish themselves in the field.

About Planned Giving
Planned giving is an excellent way to ensure that OREF will be in a position to fund high-quality research and continue to advance the specialty for years to come. Including OREF in your will or a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) or making OREF a beneficiary of a life insurance policy are great ways to support future research.
If you'd like to make a gift with a more immediate impact, a charitable distribution from an IRA might be a great option that can also save you money. If you are required to take an annual minimum distribution from an IRA, you can avoid paying income tax on the distribution (up to a maximum of $100,000) by making a distribution directly from your IRA to a qualified 501(c)(3) charity like OREF.
